Forester Haven Florida Dedicated By Independent Order
The Independent Order of Foresters opened Forester Haven Florida near Lake Jem with a ceremony led by Mrs Alma Probst widow of Lou Probst Canada. The Eustis High School Band played and flags of three countries were raised as Lake County officials attended. The Lou and Alma Probst Hall of Meditation was also dedicated.

The Independent Order of Foresters established Forester Haven on a 55 acre site between Lake Carlton and Lake Beauclaire near Lake Jem in Lake County. The facility includes a central administration dining infirmary, a 48 unit two story residence building and a chapel. The first 12 residents have transferred from the original community.

Edwin B. Mead Dies at 71. Lake County Banker Led Hospitals
Edwin Budge Mead, famed banker and businessman, died last Thursday at 71. He founded the Bank of Mount Dora in 1965 and led First National Bank and Trust of Eustis. Mead chaired both banks, led Waterman Memorial Hospital Association, and lived at Far Beach Ranch near Mount Dora. He served in the U S Air Force and helped build the Shore-Mede Hotel in Miami before moving to Lake County. Funeral services were held in Eustis.

Vaccination Clinic Set At Mount Dora and Sorrento
The Arabies vaccination clinic will be held this Saturday March 17 at the rear of Mount Dora City Hall from 8 p.m. to noon and 1 to 3 p.m. A second clinic runs at the Sorrento post office from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. County law requires yearly pet vaccination with a $4.00 fee.
