The A B A survey shows 45 Florida banks, 26.4 percent of 170, made 68 514 new loans totaling 67 982 707 and 27 950 renewals totaling 97 475 351 during July 1 to December 31 1940. Open lines of credit existed on books of 17 banks in larger centers totaling 23 634 180, with 11 434 454 used. Average per bank: 1 523 loans, 992 dollar average. 621 renewals, 879 dollar average. 34 new mortgages, 3 176 dollar mortgage average.
