Advertising Push Aims to Fill Downtown Mount Dora Stores
A downtown Mount Dora initiative seeks to attract a restaurant, shoe store, confectionary and dry goods shop by placing ads in four trade journals. The effort is led by Al Rehbaum Jr and the Downtown Property Owners Association with funding from local chambers and major property owners. Rehbaum notes plans to assess a $200 kitty for advertising and to study assessments for fairness, comparing with Golden Triangle Shopping Center. The Merchants Association reports on Winter Park visits to boost business and consider similar block improvements, with upcoming plans to visit again and contact Eve Proctor of Proctor Center. A nearby vacant building at 600 N. Donnelly St and a move for Mid-Florida Gas Co to U S 441 are noted.
