Blakely Cheek III to graduate from Florida College of Law
Leon Blakely Cheek III will graduate from the University of Florida College of Law Spessard L. Holland Law Center on June 10. He is the son of Leon B. Cheek Jr. and the grandson of the late Harry Todd Fenn. He and wife Carol Ann Lacock plan a Spain vacation before returning to Starke Florida. Renee Wise Bailey, daughter of Curtis Wise, arrives in Orlando from Guam with husband Alan Bailey in the U S Air Force. They recall greeting Nixon en route to China and report customs holding their Guam cat in Tampa after a 9000 mile trip.

Waterman Opens First Nuclear Medicine Department
Waterman Memorial Hospital will launch Lake County’s first nuclear medicine department led by Dr. William Conner and Dr. Rudy Holton. The $80,000 facility, housed in a basement area, aims to diagnose tumors and illnesses locally, reducing referrals to Orlando hospitals, and should be operational by early June.

Tax sale certificates on 354 parcels totaling 25294 97 were sold May 31 1972 after 1971 taxes remained unpaid. Forty eight bidders participated. Last year 365 certificates sold totaling 37782 94. Certificates lien on property and can be redeemed within two years by the delinquent taxpayer.
