State jobless drop in Florida hits April low since December
Florida unemployed fell 9 thousand in April to 119 thousand, first monthly drop since December. Nonfarm employment slid about two percent from April 1960, with declines in tour ist industries and layoffs driving much of the March to April decline. Construction remained lagging, while fewer unemployment claims came from that sector. Much of the drop stemmed from fewer out of state job seekers, though the rate stayed about 57 percent higher than a year earlier.
