Triangle Boat Club's Dry Tortugas Cruise Adventure
The Triangle Boat Club led by Commodore Gene Berato and Navigator Lola Berato on a July voyage to Fort Jefferson Dry Tortugas, with eight boats from 19 to 25 feet. Delays due to seas and a gas issue slowed travel. Fort Jefferson offers tours and wildlife, including nesting sooty terns and frigate birds. The crew camped at Safe Harbor Key West, used park service hoses to transfer 650 pounds of ice and gas, and praised cooperation with park personnel for a recommended but planning-heavy trip.
