Lions win Mount Dora Little League title in 1969

The Lions defeat Kiwanis in the best of three series to claim the Mount Dora Little League championship. Lions won games 1 and 2 6-5 and 6-1 with Jeff Tutin and Allen Seabrook as winning pitchers and Dwight Mosteller and Don Spencer as managers. Regular season showed Kiwanis led key matchups with Rotary and Am Leg. Playoff results final: Lions 8 Kiwanis 5. Lions 6 Kiwanis 5. Lions 6 Kiwanis 1.

Gators crown Mt Dora slo pitch league champions

In a season finale showdown the Gizmo Gators rallied from a 5 4 deficit to beat the East Town Eagles 6 5 in eight innings. Don Chambliss delivered a towering game winning hit after Ducker McHaffie reached on an error. The Gators clinched the league title and standings dictate a July 28 meeting to organize the upcoming tournament beginning July 31 with a trophy for both champion teams.
