Gas Districts Beckon in Golden Triangle Waiting Game

Mount Dora and Eustis delay action as they await neighbor towns in a proposed gas system study. John Campbell of Sarasota pushed a feasibility report to gauge buying out Houston Corp. or granting a franchise, warning the city could gain revenue or lose to the electric system. If Mount Dora acts alone the study costs 2500, joint action 2000, with potential bonds and profits outlined for Bartow and others. Council members urged putting the matter on the next agenda with all four towns involved to avoid delaying.
