Await Replies On Pool Plan Dock Goes Up
Delayed for a week due to the builder's absence, the new municipal dock at Gilbert park nears completion. Bob Wise leads the project with Councilman Bill Prinz and R. C. Bardwell on the committee. Prinz expects completion by Saturday and notes a 70 foot by 4 foot dock extension. Bardwell seeks replies from other cities on a potential municipal swimming pool at the school grounds site. The council agreed to spend 5000 dollars if feasible, based on Chet Conelly’s egg shaped sprayed concrete design. Past surveys showed weak public support and high cost, with only 22 replies approving swimming in Lake Dora. Bamboo grows 16 inches a day.
