The Mount Dora Yacht Club founded in 1913 grew from six men led by H. C. Fuller to the city’s social centerpiece. It advanced yachting education, hosted regattas, and served as a military service club during World War II. Motorcycle Crash Injures Local Youth in Mount Dora
A 14 year old Mount Dora boy was injured on Highway 441 at Highway 19 near the Golden Triangle Center. He was taken to Waterman Memorial with a fractured left leg and multiple injuries. The driver, H Jennings Rou of Tavares, 56, tried to avoid the crash by turning left. Rou will be cited for failing to yield upon entering the highway.

Benwell Firm Wins Church Air Conditioning Contract
Benwell Refrigeration Sales and Service has won the contract to install air conditioning for the Church of Christ on Fifth Avenue. Trustees spokesman Jim Noblitt said the church is undergoing renovation and will be air conditioned for the first time.
