Lawn Bowling Trophies Highlight Omnipresent Regional Ties
The Southeastern division trophy is on display as Orlando hosts a March 4 to 6 tournament with trebles doubles and singles. Mount Dora St Petersburg Clearwater Orlando Chamber of Commerce and Harold Esch memorials supported the event. Mount Dora will field teams for the competition. Daytona Beach league results saw Peabody spoiling a two win two loss split as Bridgman Skoglund Fisk and Marsh edged Johnson 15 to 14. Jitney contest crowned Marsh era men winners Major Marsh Rogers and Ferguson and women winners Mrs Trager Miss Turner Mrs Fuller. Orlando won Marsh trophy with 83 points followed by Daytona 80 DeLand 64 Mount Dora 63. Elmer Eckis welcomed as honorary member. Holmes closing line.

Lell Pinkston of Mount Dora leads Florida State Universitys Flying High troupe on 7:30 P.M. Monday at Easts High School stadium. The event funds the Eustis Kiwanis underprivileged children project with 250 performers on three stages, a band, and 24 leg acts. Pinkston, niece of W A Redd of Sylvan Shores, joins Fred Darkow from Mount Dora with Mabee Faye Allen of Tallahassee and Johnny Fortune Hill in the lineup.

Dora Canal Cleared for Full Boat Travel in Central Florida
The Dora Canal in Central Florida is now fully open for boat travel after Lake County Coast Guard auxiliary flotilla cleared logs and debris along its length. Mount Dora volunteers led by Bob Thompson and Curt Wise completed an all day effort with Joe Power and Chet Conelly among the auxiliary officers.

Mount Dora Teams Compete In Greyhound Bus Tourney
Shuffleboard players from Mount Dora sent three men teams and two ladies teams to the St. Cloud Greyhound Bus tournament filling a vacancy. Mount Dora totaled 19 wins, with the two ladies teams securing 11. The Myrtle Purdy William Miller pair won seven games, including two over Orlando’s Mesdames Spink and Trautman. Mount Dora also beat St. Cloud six to four and plans for next year’s event.
