Adam Hazelwood 96, Mount Dora’s Oldest Resident, Dies
Adam Hazelwood age 96, Mount Dora and Lake County’s oldest resident, died early Monday January 25 at Lake County Medical Center after a long life. Born August 26 1840 in Beighton England he moved to Wisconsin at seven. He served three years in the Union Army and fought at Vicksburg before discharge in 1865. He remarried Augusta Isabella Gray in 1914 and lived in Chicago with his wife until his death. his first wife Sarah James died in 1905. He left five children John Robert Alice Ella James, two surviving.
