Mobile X Ray Unit Visits Lake County February Week
The Mobile X Ray Unit from the Division of Tuberculosis of the State Board of Health will tour Lake County the week of February 14 as part of the tuberculosis control program. The schedule covers Groveland Clermont Tavares Mount Dora Umatilla Eustis Leesburg and Lisbon with white and colored time slots and locations. The Weekly Business Review notes 1943 crop values: citrus 113 million, vegetables 47 million, peanuts 30 percent for nuts and 70 percent hog feed. Florida corn valued at 12 thousand, tobacco 8.75 million, cotton sales total 16 640 bales, yield 176 pounds per acre. Bees produced 8.586 million pounds of honey and 197 thousand pounds of wax. 162 000 bee colonies in 1943, up from 150 000 in 1942.
