Mount Dora Mayor to End Term as Growth Plans Debut
Mount Dora Mayor Jesse Willmott announced he will not seek another term as mayor during a busy council meeting. Attendee Tom Champion for Mount Dora Development Corporation outlined a new middle income housing project on two city blocks from Grandview to Tremain, with rezonings from R2 to C1 and R2 to R3 to allow commercial space and multi family dwellings. The council approved the first readings, and Viking Builders of Orlando pledged continued low income housing on 29 lots while exploring expansion. Additional items included a police vehicle bid, garden club landscape plans, jail sale procedure, and recreation department transition debate.
