Mount Dora lawn bowlers defeated Peabody 69 to 91 at the Peabody court on January 10 after a string of lopsided losses. The Mount Dora club, with skip Verne Martin, beat Peabody 21 to 19 in one tight match and 20 to 19 in another as late ends swung the score.

Mount Dora Tennis Players Reach Final Round at Lake County Championship

Mount Dora teams led by Charlie Doust and Herb Whitehead advanced to the final round of the Lake County Championship in Clermont on Friday, finishing second to Lane and Miller. Other Mount Dora entrants, including J. S. Bridgeman C. B. Peterson and several pairs, were eliminated earlier as spectators enjoyed a sunny Donnelly Street hillside scene and a growing club interest in pinochle and canasta.
