Wintering In Florida Chronicle of a Week
A dated weekly diary describes shifting Florida weather from a sunny start to a chilly afternoon wind and rain, followed by a cool night under a near full moon. It notes 43 degrees in downtown, farm impacts, and a pleasant winter sky. The piece visits Honey-in-the-Hills for lunch, discusses C. V. Griffin’s Lake County city plans, growing Howey population, and Lake Harris bridges. It ends admiring flame vine blooms and Beethoven’s Fifth Concerto with the Philharmonic.
