The Lakeside Inn aims to create a miniature resort with private yet communal rooms for loyal patrons who visit yearly. The hotel previously hosted President Calvin Coolidge for six weeks in 1928 under manager Archie Hurlburt. Dick, president of the Deer Island association, envisions a future causeway and development to attract winter visitors to exclusive homesites across Lake Dora.

The club plans a year long contest series to register players and develop tournament readiness with trips to Clermont and future mixed and doubles events across Lake County. A county league for the Webster Trophy was organized in Eustis. Cronwall of Mount Dora Hotel donated a Cronwalt Trophy for a local award set to be contested in February and March across Mount Dora Leesburg and Clermont.
