Mount Dora forms new city council minus one member who awaits mayoral appointment. Tuesday night session seated Al Re hba um III, Mayor Jesse Willmott, Gordon Dake, Mrs. John Murray as officials with Howard Cox Ty Parker and C O Lott standing.
The Mount Dora City Council elected a new President in a secret ballot with Gordon Dake and Mrs. John Murray named as nominees. Murray withdrew, leaving Dake as a candidate as the council copes with six members since Fred Compton’s Jan first resignation. Dake pledged to tackle upcoming city issues with a capable council. Mayor Jesse Willmott swore in Cauley Lott as the newest council member along with re elected Dake and Howard Cox. Murray was later unanimously chosen as Vice Chairman.
The Mount Dora Kiwanis Travelog begins its ninth year January 21 at 8 p.m. with Paris of the Parisians in the Community Building. Six travelogs follow to Holland New Zealand Canada Guiana and the Northwestern United States. Season tickets include six travelogs plus the Florida Symphony Orchestra on February 25 for 8 dollars. single admission is 1.50. Tickets available from Kiwanis members the Chamber of Commerce banks and service firms or home delivery by calling 383 2354. Narrated by Doug Jones the Paris program promises lively scenes from the city with witty hosts and daily life glimpses in cafes and metro tours.
