Lions Carnival Brings Fun Despite Rainy Weekend
Weather tried to dampen the Lions club Days of ’49ers carnival but the event continued over two evenings. The program kept crowds laughing as Arnold Haynes surveyed beard judging with Robert Stark winning and Chester Conelly placing second. Ray Brantley helped promote the show while Helen Whitehead braved the Chinese Torture chamber. Lion George Benjamin assisted with a gown train while Mildred Winton modeled. Jim Brady and others awarded prizes for best costume in lion skin garb.
