Mrs S L Hunter from Leesburg attended the 1943 annual session and expressed willingness to cooperate with the circle in welfare efforts. She offered to be reachable for future assistance when needed.
Mrs J E Stokes of Fort Myers announces the marriage of daughter Annie Myers to Claude E Carter son of Mrs W A Carter Mount Dora. The ceremony occurred Monday January 30 in Punta Gorda with Rev Allen officiating. The couple, who honeymooned in Sarasota, reside at Hotel St Charles in Fort Myers and both work at Marine's Pharmacy.
Mount Dora Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star held its regular meeting on a Thursday evening. The ceremony featured an Obligation led by the Worthy Patron with the Worthy Matron and Star Point officers plus visiting stars from Iowa Indiana Ohio Connecticut and New York. A post meeting social hour offered orange juice and cookies.

Winners included Mrs. Joseph Butler and Paul Hinsdale among others. A Valentine party followed later in the week.

DeLand doubles show Blackburne Breckenridge and Kerr Steinmetz vs Furbex Hadsall and others. Mount Dora Crackers beat Sea B in a 21 19 match. membership hits 123.

The Cookie Jar is supplied by Ladies of the Baptist Church for the Service Men Club in February, following a January period kept well filled by Methodist Church ladies chaired by Mrs. W. S. Sheldon and Miss Lizzie Barrett. Donors include numerous named ladies such as Mrs. Sheldon Miss Barrett Mrs. Cornelia Ashley Mrs. C. G. Loveless and others listed.
The Mount Dora Woman's Club held a luncheon with 140 attendees, raising 24 for charity and endowment. Lt Baillod spoke on WAC opportunities for young women, urging recruitment, followed by a patriotic song and a roll call of Lake County clubs.
