The Recreation Hall at Hibiscus Mobile Park measures 40 by 60 feet with terrazzo flooring nearing completion. Residents welcome new neighbors Mrs George Shanover and the Millers who bought a Champion trailer at Lot 53.
Florida golf club season remains busy as members and winter visitors play regularly. The Winter Member-Visitor Handicap Tournament drew about 60 players, with future tournaments planned. Members report progress on range construction, new porcelain yardage markers, and ongoing social events at Par 8.
Mount Dora PTO hosts Pancake Day at the Mount Dora Community Building from 7 am to 7 pm on Saturday February 24 to raise funds. Tickets sell for 1.00 with 0.50 for children. Prizes include watches for Grades 1–6 top sellers and a transistor radio for the top seller in Grades 7–12. Vernon Lee 80 of Mountain Lakes New Jersey died last week after living in Mount Dora Florida. He was a residential architect for over 30 years in the New York area and a Purdue and Chicago School graduate who introduced concrete block use and pre fabricated roof rafters in designs. He designed homes in Florida and New Jersey and helped remodel the First Church of Christ Scientist in Eustis. Survived by wife Ruth T three sons two step daughters a stepson and seven grandchildren. Rehbaum Funeral Home handled arrangements.
Mount Dora to host Blood Donor Day next Tuesday at the Community Building auditorium from 4 to 7 PM. Appointments can be made at the Chamber of Commerce as flu-related demand drains the Blood Bank. Mount Dora Lions Club sponsors the event.
