Mount Dora Highway Plans Put Off by State Board
Local officials push for a survey of U S 441 through Mount Dora to relieve traffic, but state plans focus on a different four laning project. The Lake County Commission sought surveys and widening from the Orange county line to the 441 19 junction, plus through Mount Dora, with no concrete action yet. The planning commission had discussed routes including a bypass south of Lake Dora, a scenic 441 A, or an east route around Mount Dora, but no decision satisfied since budget allocations omit many requested projects.
