City Council moved the first reading of an ordinance to rezone a portion of recently annexed Sylvan Shores. Three of eleven lots will stay residential while eight become commercial. Mount Dora police investigate a theft at Horsley Jewelers on Donnelly Street where a robber smashed the display window and stole about 600 dollars in diamond rings. Two rings were dropped. one inside the window and one on the sidewalk near Rehbaum's Hardware. Police were alerted around 9 45 by theatergoers. Bloodhounds followed tracks for blocks to the east city limits. scent was lost. Insurance covered window replacement.

Huskey Seeks Annexation of Property at Highway 441
Mr E Everette Huskey appeared before the Council Tuesday night asking the city to annex a tract owned by Huskey Development Company Inc on new Highway 441. He noted one motel nearly finished another planned and seven other firms ready to move in. McCall To Direct Red Cross Campaign
