FCA Governor Urges Cash Purchases Over Time Loans
Farm Credit Administration leaders formed production credit associations in the last 18 months to provide short term farmer loans. Governor W. S. Myers told 12 production credit corporations in Washington that these bodies will grow if they finance part of current time sales at 20 to 40 percent interest and encourage cash buying to cut costs. He said banks may lose some business but many rural banks offer little credit. He urged farmers to use these cooperatives at low rates and expect higher volume next year.
