Mount Dora Art League presents a two day exhibit from 2 to 4 p.m. showcasing paintings and hand crafts by children who completed a four week summer program. The event includes 60 merit ribbons and prizes for top pieces.
Barbara Moots was honored at a surprise birthday party at her home last Sunday. Guests enjoyed a picnic supper, television, dancing and conversation. DeAnn Bateman and Dribble helped her mother with the affair.
The Order of the Eastern Star holds a regular meeting Thursday at 8 p.m. at the Masonics. Officers will be elected and all members are urged to attend.
This week in Eustis hospital listings a baby named Robert Snow is admitted along with patients Mrs. Escott and Weldon Weidner.

The Sun Set Vesper in Gilbert Park cave features The Trap of the Ordinary. Dr C A Carrier will title Jesus Revealer of the Universe at Presbyterian Church.
Anita Stedronsky and her parents visited Cypress Gardens on Sunday to view the gardens and attend the crowning ceremony for the Tangerine Bowl Queen. The report notes numbers needed for the upcoming state clinic to be held early next year.
Mount Dora hosts a dessert card party by the Lakes and Hills Garden Club on December 16 at 1 30 p m at the Lakeside Inn. Decorations by Mrs Robert F Wason and Mrs Robert Eichelberger plus committee members pledge notable crafts and personalized Christmas bells.
The Junior Woman's Club invites will lead to the annual holiday dance on December 18 at the American Legion home. Organizers include Mrs. Earl Stary and Mrs. Stanley Tyre with Betty Fellows and Raymond Thorsen heading the dance committee. Special committees are led by Mrs. John McCormick for decorating and a team including Mrs. Joseph Melvin, Mrs. Bud Wingler, Mrs. Pam Stephens, Mrs. Stary, and Mrs. Tyre for invitations.
The Holly Circle of the Lakes and Hills Garden club will meet Friday at 1 30 p m in the Community building. Mrs Gretchen Elliott will present a program on horticulture and members are asked to bring vases for the Junior Garden club presentation.
Miss Ann Bowers of Mount Dora is highlighted as a Rollins College soloist in the Chapel Choir Christmas program conducted by Robert Hugstader. The musical, offered in three performances at 6:15, 8:30 Sunday and 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, features traditional and modern Christmas pieces. Free admission cards may be reserved by calling the Rollins chapel office.
The Saturday night game sessions at the school are discontinued until after the New Year. The annual Christmas party will be held at the school on December 21 with Mrs. Bert Pim as party chair. New officers named include Frank Saxton president Louis Fister vice president and Mrs Elenor Sammons secretary treasurer. Mrs Pim reelected to a two year board term. Visiting residents Mr and Mrs William Green of Kankakee Illinois noted with Louis Fisters. Dr G O Wright of Glens Falls New York wintering with Mrs Pim. Mrs Pim also hosting Mrs Melvin Croak and Theresa of Toledo Ohio. Mt Plymouth resident Mrs William Clifton returns home from hospital.
