The Retired Citizens Association hosts a Friday meeting December 5 at the Community Center with an 11 30 a m luncheon and a showing of Before and After the Mount Dora Renewal Program. BPW plans a Christmas Party December 10 at the Mount Dora Community Building with Thelma Mosteller as chair.
Local clubs including First Presbyterian Women’s Association Tangerine Garden Club PEO Chapter BB Golden Triangle Grange Mount Dora Extension Homemakers and Lions Club announce December gatherings. Programs cover Christmas music tea readings glaucoma clinics and officer installations with venues at Fellowship Hall Leesburg Community Building and Mount Dora facilities. Millard C. Reid notes the Lions glaucoma screening runs December 9 with hundreds examined and several cases saved.
Lakes and Hills Garden Club will host a dessert bridge on December 5 at 12 30 and 7 30 p.m. The event is led by chair man Mrs Hobart Killinger with help from ten circle chair men. Hospitality head Mrs Leo Dunton coordinates circle assistants while decorations led by Mrs Walter Olsen highlight the Palms for Christmas theme.
The Woman's Fellowship of the Community Congregational Church will gather at 2 30 p.m. on December 5 in Armstrong Chapel. Speaker is Paul F. Wilson of Lakeland Co Director of Polk County Christian Migrant Ministry. Members will bring Christmas donations for the King's Daughters.
