Mount Dora hardware dealer Mr. Rehbaum keeps a continuous presence in the Topic for 30 years. His December 14 advertisement promised Maytag Washers when the War Production Board allowed factory to resume washing machine production. This week the shop promotes garden goods showing ongoing advertising success.
Dr Mildred Marsh left for New Hampshire last Friday due to a devastating fire at Lake Winnepesaukee that destroyed about 400 cottages and caused over 200000 dollars in damage. The blaze damaged both summer and year round homes, with Marsh owning one of the latter. Firefighters dynamited several cottages to contain the flames, and valuable antiques were spread among the wreckage.
All Mount Arora area stores and businesses will be closed on Monday for Labor Day. Shoppers are advised to plan ahead for Saturday amid altered hours and potential service changes.
