Mount Dora AAU Swim Club capped its season with the Mid-Florida Championships at Lake Highland. Heather Hawthorne set a new championship AAA time in the 50 yard fly for 10 & under girls, adding multiple top finishes alongside teammates Matty Werst and Leslie Hoag.

He moved to Mount Dora then Winter Park Towers and served as bank director library trustee and Kiwanis member. Survived by widow Florence two daughters three sisters twelve grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Interment moved to Wellsville New York.

Lawrence Earl Shontz of Mount Dora died Monday at age 82. He lived at 95 Gardenia Ave Hibiscus Park and was born in Harmony Pennsylvania. A deacon at Central Christian Church of Mount Dora, he is survived by his widow Emma M. Shantz two daughters two stepdaughters five grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Services were held Wednesday at Rehbaum Harden Chapel. Memorials may go to Central Christian Church of Mount Dora.
