County Officials Hear Sylvan Shores Drainage Complaints
About 50 Sylvan Shores residents met at the Sylvan Shores hotel to press county officials on heavy rains causing health and access concerns. County Com. O M Simpson and County Eng. Charles Goodson outlined a proposed drainage system costing 41 500 for 75 properties, or 560 per owner, to drain water into Lake Gertrude. A second option would send excess water to a nearby lake with shop ping center land, if allowed. The county signaled no financial participation, while residents urged action and extra spraying by the Tanner department. A seven member committee will study the issue further after some owners return from summer vacations.
