Belgium Honors Three Americans for Boy Scout Service
Belgium awarded the Officers Star of Honor to G Barrett Rich Dr James E West and Lorne W Barclay for long service to boyhood and the World Scout Jamboree. Rich led the American Camp at the jamboree and helped found the BSA. West founded the movement in America and expanded it to about 860000 members. Barclay, Tampa Scout Executive, led the American contingent and previously directed BSA education work. he was decorated by France and Spain for his youth work. A new Ocala stock yard will serve central Florida hogs and cattle with a rail spur and safety measures. Florida Power reports an 80 percent drop in accidents after safety campaigns. A Mount Dora bond sale notice details a 40000 bond issue for a public building, with bid rules and payment terms.
