Nelson W Morley 85 a former councilman and school board member died Sunday at Waterman Memorial hospital Eus tis. A Mount Dora resident since 1914 he came from Mentor Ohio and was a retired mechanical engineer. New Faculty Faces Set for Mount Dora Public Schools

Mount Dora public schools begin pre planning next Monday with unchanged total staff but new teachers in first and fourth grades. Helen Erickson and Alberta Marvin join first grade, Cora Ervin and May N Gray teach fourth grade, V Louise McClure leads vocal music, and Jean Jackson returns to home economics. Principal D D Roseborough enters his 36th year, with Ronald Aldrich as assistant. Registration starts August 28 with staggered times by grade.

Interest Rate On School Funds Wins Praise

The Lake county school board will deposit its instructional account in the First National Bank at Eustis this year as a gesture of encouragement, withdrawing from Mount Dora First National Bank where the funds will stay longer. Mount Dora offers 2.5 percent on longer deposits and holds about $90,000 of school funds, while the board notes the county’s largest bank has under $50,000 on hand.

East Town Pool Dedication Ceremony Today

Citizens are invited to East Town at 2 p.m. for the dedication of the $25,000 East Town swimming pool. Mayor W. D. Patton and Pool Chairman Lake Coleman will be principal speakers, with Rev. N. R.
