Barker Home Fire Destroys Lake Beauclair Estate

Firemen sift ruins at the William Jay Barker residence on Lake Beauclair to find the cause of a Sunday night blaze that leveled the home in under an hour. Loss includes silver, French antiques, paintings, Oriental rugs, a Red Cross director’s stamp collection valued at about $10,000, and a large book collection.
