Antique cars bring nostalgia in Mount Dora tour
The Florida Region of the Antique Automobile Club of America held its third annual spring tour in Mount Dora with 93 vintage vehicles including a 1904 Cadillac and postwar production models. The event at Lakeside Inn featured judging in 10 classes, Mount Dora residents selecting the Mount Dora Award winner a 1916 Reo owned by Bill Wooldridge of Largo. Dale Dillard of Eustis won Classic class with his 1934 Packard. Parke Robinson and E M Vander Velde tied for First in Antique Pre 1920 class with their 1904 Cadillac and 1915 Metz. Daryl Cook of Mount Dora won the children model car contest.

A nine member Mount Dora visitation committee for Mount Dora High School presented a six phase report to the Mount Dora community detailing findings from the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. The panel praised administration faculty and student adaptability while urging curriculum improvements more vocational options and better funding for educational media and time for professional development.
