2nd Lt Constantine T DeWolski son of Capt C L DeWolski Sanford Florida, formerly Mount Dora, received the Air Medal for meritorious achievement during Eighth Air Force bombing attacks. He flies a B 17 Fortress with the 493rd Bomb Group, participated in eight RAF missions deep in Europe and targeted enemy war industries, air fields, bridges and railroad yards behind German lines. He earned his wings at George Field Illinois in March 1944.
The Mount Dora American Legion post pays tribute to Franklin Delano Roosevelt, praising his leadership during the war era. The resolution honors his life, ideas, and guidance, urging the world to uphold freedom and oppose aggression for future generations.

Dr Otis W Foye of Dorchester died Saturday night April 14 at Waterman Memorial Hospital after an operation failed. He is survived by a son Lt Comdr L Curtis Foye stationed in the Pacific a daughter Mrs L M Hutchins Ossining NY and six grandchildren. A memorial service for Dr and Mrs Foye will be held Sunday April 22 at 4 30 p m in the First Baptist Church of Mount Dora.
Louis H. Hall executor announces final discharge and approval hearing for the Mary F. Porter estate in Lake County Florida. The hearing before Judge A S Herlong Jr is set for May 15 1945 in Mount Dora. Attorney W M Fonsedy of Mount Dora represents the filer.
The town of Mount Dora Florida completes the 1945 tax roll for public inspection by the Town Clerk and announces a Board of Equalization meeting on April 27 1945 from 9 to 12 and 2 to 4 to hear complaints. The notice also seeks a local act to empower a Municipal Delinquent Tax Adjustment Board and chief officials.
