Antique cars roll into town Friday for Lake County tour

About 100 antique and classic cars from the Florida Region AACA and other collectors visit Mount Dora for the fourteenth annual spring tour. The display includes a Saturday parade on Donnelly Street and tours to Eustis Leesburg and Ta vares with exhibits at Palm Plaza Leesburg and Lakeshore Drive Mount Dora. Activities include a bike parade, elementary school prize money, a barbershop quartet, live entertainment, and old fashioned lemonade. Ballots for favorite car are distributed during display with a plaque awarded to the winner.

Mount Dora Council Upholds Church Use of Pine Street Site

Antique 1916 Reo Speedster Visits Mount Dora on Tour

More than 75 antique cars will visit Mount Dora for the 1974 Florida Region Antique and Classic Spring Tour of the Antique Automobile Club of America with the 1916 Reo Speedster owned by Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Wooldridge of Largo driving it to the event. In Mount Dora council, zoning concerns prompted a motion to deny use of an Assembly of God chapel due to inadequate off street parking and storm drainage. Mayor Champion urged the Rev Spurlock to attend services next Sunday, as council debates continued with a final decision set after a May 2 meeting.
