Miss Kathleen E. Leyden daughter of Mr and Mrs Robert Leyden of Tangerine becomes engaged to Mr Joe Wynn Shipes son of Mr and Mrs W T Shipes of Lake Jem The couple plans to wed August 27 at St Edwards Episcopal Church Mount Dora Florida.
The April meeting of the Men's Garden Club of Mount Dora will feature a program titled Insects and Pesticides. James A. Beims of Moon's Eeingage will discuss. A booklet on care of trees flowers and vegetables will be given to members. Refreshments follow.
Girl Scout Cadette Troop 111 will host a car wash on Saturday April 9 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the parking lot of the Methodist Church on Fifth Ave Mount Dora. Charge is 1.00 per vehicle with proceeds funding a troop trip to Savannah and Stone Mountain Georgia in July.
Mount Dora Extension Homemakers will meet at 9 30 a m on Wednesday April 13 in the Community Building. Alice Rollins will present a program titled Decorating featuring color and design biome accessories. Members should bring training panties and a canned food item for the East Town Day Care Center. a noon lunch will follow with an antique plate display and craft session Croknit or Broomstick Crochet requiring 4 ply yarn.
Lois M. Miller and Lawrence F. Williams, both of Mount Dora, united in marriage Saturday April 2 at Community Congregational Church of Dora with Rev. Lester O. Schriver officiating. The bride was given in marriage by son Jerry R. Miller. Guests traveled from Washington DC St Petersburg West Palm Beach DeLand and Mount Dora for the ceremony and reception at Lamp Post restaurant. The couple will reside in Mount Dora after previously living in Mt. Vernon Ohio.
