Flu shots cost and access vary as vaccination season arrives
Health officials urge nearly all Americans to get flu vaccines while insurers cover most shots with no copay. Cash payers face 20 to 45 dollars per shot, with higher doses for seniors reaching 70 dollars or more. Vaccination sites now include pharmacies and workplaces, and CVS offers five dollar coupons. Vaccines remain imperfect but remain the best defense against flu. End of October is the CDC target for shot timing with two doses for first-time child vaccine recipients.
