IECC Board Meets at WVC Sets 2019 Tuition and Updates
Illinois Eastern Community College District 529 trustees met at Wabash Valley College on November 20 after a public hearing on the tax levy. They certified the fiscal year 2019 levies, approved international student tuition increases, and authorized affiliation agreements with Hamilton Memorial Hospital Grae Samaritan Hospital Vincennes and Aperion Care Bridgeport for nurse assistant programs. They approved a 2019 holiday calendar, reviewed a property tax abatement proposal postponement, updated the substance abuse policy, authorized two Statewide Emergency Capital Funding projects at Olney Central College and Wabash Valley College, and announced new hires changes and resignations. The next meeting is December 11 at Frontier Community College.

SIU Carbondale to honor 111 retiring employees
Southern Illinois University Carbondale will recognize 111 retirees for service at a ceremony and reception on November 30 in Student Center Ballroom D. The event runs from 8 a.m. registration to 8:30 a.m. ceremony, honoring staff who retired between August 1, 2017 and July 31, 2018 with a combined 2,473 years of service including 49 in the 20 to 29 year range and 21 in the 30 to 35 year range. One retiree reached 41 years.

WVC Foundation Chili Supper Set for Wednesday
The Wabash Valley College Foundation hosts a chili supper on Wednesday Nov 28 from 430 to 730 pm in the Red Café with chili hot dogs sandwiches and homemade desserts served by Foundation Directors. Carryouts available and tickets are $5 for chili and drink or combos with hot dogs sandwiches desserts. Extra hot dog or sandwich $1. Desserts $1.
