Three Vehicle Crash in Mount Carmel Injures One
Mount Carmel police responded to a three vehicle collision on May 2 in the 300 block of Walnut Street. Stone R Patberg of Mount Carmel failed to stop for traffic and struck Destinee Riley of Belmont, pushing Riley into Justin Inman of Ash North Carolina. Riley sustained minor injuries and left for Wabash General Hospital. Patberg was cited for failure to reduce speed.

Griesemer sentenced to 21 years for home invasion
Christian Griesemer of Princeton Indiana received a 21 year department of corrections term with three years parole on three concurrent Class X felony counts for a Sept 21 2015 home invasion at 713 N Mulberry St He entered the residence armed with a firearm and threatened the residents and two unidentified males with bodily harm noting he kicked one male in the torso and warned of imminent force Breindenbach and Gerberg were present during the incident.

Bridge bids come in under estimates for county repairs
Wabash County Engineer Dustin Bunting told commissioners that two upcoming projects have bids below initial estimates. Allendale Gravel submitted the low bid of 395 711 for the North 1900 Boulevard bridge, saving over 10 000 from the 406 000 estimate. State approval is needed, with completion hoped in five to six weeks. A second bridge on North 1800 Boulevard awaits timetable, and pea gravel will be used for road maintenance with a Motor Fuel Tax bid cheaper by five dollars per ton.
