Community Events Calendar June lineup in Mount Carmel area
A series of community events in Mount Carmel and nearby towns includes a benefit breakfast for Clyde Lewis at Allendale Masonic Lodge from 7 to 9 a.m. and the Mount Carmel Farmer's Market starting at 8 a.m. at TenPins parking lot. Other activities encompass library 5K runs, bake and pork burger sales, Flag Day ceremonies, auxiliary meetings, support groups, luncheons, and club gatherings through June 25.

Cassandra Clemens daughter of Wes and Cheryl Clemens and the late Julie Clemens has been accepted to Lipscomb University College of Pharmacy for fall 2016 in Nashville Tennessee. She graduates Mount Carmel High School in 2013 and has completed undergraduate studies at Southern Illinois University Carbondale. She earned a spot in the Vanderbilt Program in Interprofessional Learning through a Lipscomb Vanderbilt partnership and will begin study in fall 2016.
