Pig pedestal contest ends in two hog offs at fair
Wabash County hog wrestlers staged a pig on a tire challenge with two tie-break rounds after Neon Mud and Pork Chop tied at 27 seconds. In the second hog off Neon Mud failed to beat Pork Choppers’ 8 seconds, as teams across boys and girls divisions vied for a minute to place the pig on a wheel. Each division offered a $100 prize and separate costume prizes for best outfits.

Prisons in Illinois Still Overcrowded Despite Drop
New state data show Illinois prisons remain overcrowded with 47,483 inmates in May 2015. The system houses 32,000 capacity, while declines since 2013 follow good behavior credits and fewer transfers from county jails. A public hearing in Chicago will address further reductions.
