Wabash General board approves leadership transition plans

Wabash General Hospital will see Jay Purvis retire in early 2018 after 16 years as CEO, with Karissa Turner named to become President and CEO on Jan 1 2019. Purvis, 77, plans to relocate to North Carolina and pursue education opportunities while expanding local clinics in Albion and orthopedic and primary care services. A November referendum will seek authority for the hospital to purchase property outside its district, potentially boosting growth and revenue without tax increases.
