Lifeguards Rescue Boy At Mt Carmel City Pool
Ellie McIntre and Carmen Deisher, lifeguards at Mt Carmel city pool, leaped into action on July 13 to rescue a 3 or 4 year old boy who nearly drowned after diving from the high dive. The girls swam to the boy, pulled him from the deep end, and reunited with their gear to ensure he could breathe. A Facebook post by Jimmie Mitchell attributes the heroic rescue to the two workers who were on duty that day. The boy coughed up water and appeared unfazed after being rescued, while his mother took him to the baby pool to resume play. Mitchell later bought flowers for the lifeguards in gratitude.
