New EDA district proposed along U.S. 41 in Gibson County
Gibson County Commissioners approved a narrowed economic development area along U.S. 41 from Patoka to I 64. The plan, limited to half a mile on either side of the highway, includes the extended 2nd Avenue project and Edge Packing site near Fort Branch. A TIF district could follow, funds infrastructure via property tax.

160 New Jobs Tied to TIF Request in Gibson County
Gibson County Commissioners review Toyota Boshoku Indiana plan to use 1.7 million in Tax Increment Finance revenue and extend a road to support an expansion that would add 160 jobs at starting wages of 13.05 per hour. The project value is 9.5 to 11.6 million with 450 thousand road costs and a county review, before final endorsement by the Redevelopment Commission. The plant employs 900, with 40 percent local labor and a 60 million payroll. TBIN pledges clawbacks if promises aren’t kept.
