USDA partners to improve rural water infrastructure
USDA announces 267 million dollars to upgrade water and wastewater systems in 103 rural projects across 35 states under the Water and Waste Disposal Loan and Grant program. Examples include Sisseton Wahpeton Oyate Tribe in South Dakota, Erin Tennessee and Alexander New York projects expanding capacity and extending safe water. The effort, backed by fiscal 2018 funding and an interagency task force, aims to strengthen rural prosperity by modernizing infrastructure.

A select group of 10 college students from nine states completed the Ag Voices of the Future program in Washington DC. Sponsored by Valent U.S.A. and the American Soybean Association, the three day event exposed students to agricultural policy making, advocacy, and regulatory issues. They met with USDA EPA Senate staff and state associations, and toured policy circles with leaders from CropLife America and the Agricultural Retailers Association.
