Mount Carmel City Council approved the 2016 Tax Levy and issued 24 liquor licenses for 2016 including four class A ten class B three class C three class D three class F and one class M. New officer Adrian Meyer Rod Rodriguez joined the police department and Shop with a Cop aided 31 children. Trash service adjustments include no pickup on Christmas and New Year’s Day with service resuming the following Saturday.

Hardiman waives right to preliminary hearing in home invasion case
Bertis P. Hardiman III waived his preliminary hearing during a Mount Carmel proceeding on December 21 and his arraignment was set for February 8, 2016. State's Attorney Cassandra Goldman noted the waiver of a speedy trial due to a prior continuance. Hardiman and Christian S. Griesemer face four felony counts of home invasion for an armed September 21, 2015 incident at 713 N. Mulberry Street in Mount Carmel where four victims were tied, had phones stolen, and suspects sought another resident.
