Griesemer pleads guilty in 2014 Princeton Taco Tierra robbery
Christian S. Griesemer, 20, pled guilty in Gibson Superior Court to the Oct. 2, 2014 robbery at Taco Tierra in Princeton, taking $2,954 and a cell phone. He received a nine year sentence to be served concurrently with a 21 year Illinois home invasion sentence, with good time credits possible. An immunity deal covers other crimes. co-defendant Dontray Chavis is also charged. no injuries reported.

Grayville Days festival kicks off Labor Day weekend
Grayville Days 2016 runs Thursday through Sunday with events at First Christian Church the Wabash Theater and downtown. Highlights include a variety show at 7 p.m. Thursday, Boot Scout'n Line Dance, The Works Band, a breakfast, Firecracker 5K, vendor fair, parades, rides, Back Paiges Band, Erik Blue Band, townwide church service, gospel music, Duke Boys, Sixwire Band, and a fireworks finale.

Blood drive and Pagodafest scheduled in two towns
In Mount Carmel a blood drive will be held on September 9 starting at 1. In Albion a Pagodafest fundraiser is planned for September 10 from 7 p.m. to midnight in the Moose parking lot to repair the Albion pagoda. A band begins at 9 p.m. with tickets available at local businesses for five dollars.
