Council approves tower lease negotiation with Verizon
Mount Carmel city officials authorized Rudy Witsman to negotiate a contract extension with Verizon for two city towers on Park Road near the golf course. Verizon seeks a 47 year extension while the city currently collects 11,040 annually. The council also noted bids awarded for Empire Road farmland and airport parcels, with Timberlakes paying 200 per acre and Ivers 305 per acre.
