The Illinois Medical Society backs H R 6562 the Network Adequacy and Transparency Act to ensure health plans provide adequate networks and up to date in network directories. Rep Greg Harris and Rep Chad Hays lead the effort with Sen Linda Holmes carrying the measure in the Senate. The bill requires insurers to file network details with the Illinois Department of Insurance and to maintain provider access to protect patients including pregnant women families and those with serious conditions.
