Storm damages trees and blocks in Wabash County
Strong April winds felled about seven trees in Wabash County. A tree collapsed onto a truck on South Market. Police Chief John Lockhart said additional downed trees damaged homes on Cherry, East Eleventh, East Fifth and Golden Aces Way, Bellmont, Parish and Sweeney, and Seventh and Mulberry. No injuries were reported as the city road department cleaned up debris.

Concession stand issues resolved at special meeting
West Salem Athletic Association reached a settlement with West Salem Village on April 6 over the Centennial Park concession stand. The deal moves the deep fryer outside, requires a displayed insurance certificate, provides a stand key to the village, and confirms volunteers only for paid-work duties.
